Full Sun to Part ShadeFreesia ‘Golden Melody’ lights up the spring garden with bright, sunny yellow blooms in rich golden tones, often softened with buttery yellow through the centre. The flowers are beautifully fragrant and make a stunning cut flower, filling the home with that classic freesia perfume.
This is an exceptional giant flowering freesia strain, producing large blooms on strong stems around 30 to 50 cm tall. Ideal for borders and pots, it’s perfect for planting in groups for a big hit of colour and scent.
How to grow Freesia bulbs: Plant in a sunny, well-drained position with protection from heavy frosts. Plant bulbs 5 to 6 cm deep and 8 to 10 cm apart in well-worked soil. For tidy clumps and easy lifting, plant into a bulb protection basket set just below the soil surface. Feed for best performance each season and keep an eye out for common pests and diseases.
Freesia Bulbs are easy to grow, and thrive in sunny, well drained positions, but need protection from frosts.
Plant your Freesia bulbs in well worked soil, 5-6cm deep and 8-10cm apart. To keep clumps together, why not use one of our bulb protection baskets and place it just below the surface of the soil.
