Gladioli Nanus
Carine
This compact Gladioli nanus variety produces creamy white blooms with rich carmine markings on the lower petals, creating a soft, elegant look with just the right amount of colour detail. It’s a delightful choice for borders and pots, and it makes a beautiful cut flower too.
Flowering in late spring to early summer, Miniature Gladiolus (also known as the “Painted Ladies”) sends up wiry, arching stems carrying several 6 to 8 cm flowers, growing to around 70 cm tall. Easy to grow and reliable, it’s perfect for sunny, well-drained garden spots.
How to grow: Plant corms in a sunny, well-drained position in well-worked soil. Plant 5 to 7 cm deep, in clumps spaced 10 to 15 cm apart. Keep watered during active growth. Monitor for common issues like thrips and rust, and treat if needed.
Gladioli Nanus are a beautiful dwarf, Spring flowering Gladioli - their smaller stature make them perfect in pots, or as a border plant. They are incredibly hardy.
These petite, early-blooming, hardier-than-usual glads, are perfect for the Spring bouquet.
Gladioli Nanus can be planted anytime from late March through to mid/late May.
