Gladiolus nanus ‘Mirella’ brings bold colour to the spring garden with eye-catching bright red blooms, sometimes finished with delicate white flecks. The gently ruffled flowers grow on loose spikes for a lighter, more natural look, and the deep green foliage makes the colour contrast really sing.

A strong performer for borders and pots, ‘Mirella’ is also an excellent cut flower. Each stem can carry up to 7 blooms, and you’ll often get multiple spikes per corm, making it great value for mass planting.

Flowering in late spring to early summer, Gladioli nanus (also known as the “Painted Ladies”) produce wiry, arching stems with several 6 to 8 cm flowers, growing to around 70 cm tall.

How to grow: Plant corms in a sunny, well-drained position in well-worked soil. Plant 5 to 7 cm deep, in clumps spaced 10 to 15 cm apart. Keep watered during active growth. Monitor for common issues like thrips and rust, and treat if needed.

Gladioli Nanus are a beautiful dwarf, Spring flowering Gladioli - their smaller stature make them perfect in pots, or as a border plant. They are incredibly hardy.

These petite, early-blooming, hardier-than-usual glads, are perfect for the Spring bouquet.

Gladioli Nanus can be planted anytime from late March through to mid/late May.
