Hyacinth ‘Fondant’, also known as Hyacinth Pink Frosting, is a standout spring favourite with richly coloured, bright pink flower spikes and a strong, sweet fragrance. It’s an easy way to add vibrant colour and scent to garden beds, borders, and patio pots, especially near paths and entrances where you can enjoy the perfume up close.

Flowering in spring and typically reaching around 20 to 30 cm tall, ‘Fondant’ looks best planted in groups for a full, high-impact display.

Planting and care

  • Position: sunny spot with well-drained soil (raise beds if your soil is heavy or wet)

  • Planting depth: 8 to 10 cm

  • Spacing: 8 to 10 cm apart

  • After flowering: remove the spent flower spike, but leave the foliage until it dies back naturally so the bulb can recharge for next season

Hyacinth bulbs are easily grown in pots, or in the garden – their delightful scent heralds that Spring has finally arrived!

Plant in a Sunny, well drained position – raise the beds if the soil is heavy or wet, and place the bulbs 8-10cm apart, 8-10cm deep.
