Hyacinth ‘Blue Jacket’ is a highly fragrant, award-winning variety with dense flower spikes in deep blue, finished with a dark purple stripe on each petal. It is a bold, classic choice for spring colour, and it looks fantastic planted in groups in garden beds or in pots on the patio where the fragrance can be enjoyed up close.

Hyacinths are the very essence of spring, with richly scented blooms that are a welcome sight after winter. ‘Blue Jacket’ is easy to grow and delivers a strong display in both containers and borders.

Planting and care

  • Position: full sun in a well-drained spot (raise beds if soil is heavy or wet)

  • Planting depth: 8 to 10 cm

  • Spacing: 8 to 10 cm apart

  • After flowering: remove spent flower spikes, but leave the foliage until it dies back naturally to feed the bulb for next season

Hyacinth bulbs are easily grown in pots, or in the garden – their delightful scent heralds that Spring has finally arrived!

Plant in a Sunny, well drained position – raise the beds if the soil is heavy or wet, and place the bulbs 8-10cm apart, 8-10cm deep.
