Hyacinth ‘Gypsy Queen’ brings a cheerful burst of soft coral colour to the garden in late winter and early spring. With richly scented flower spikes, it’s a standout for pots, borders, and garden beds, and it also makes a lovely cut flower for a small vase indoors.

Hyacinths are the very essence of spring. Their strongly scented blooms are a welcome sight after winter and they are easy to grow in containers or planted in groups for a high-impact seasonal display.

Planting and care

  • Position: sunny spot with well-drained soil (raise beds if soil is heavy or wet)

  • Planting depth: 8 to 10 cm

  • Spacing: 8 to 10 cm apart

  • After flowering: remove spent flower spikes, but leave the foliage until it dies back naturally to feed the bulb for next season

Hyacinth bulbs are easily grown in pots, or in the garden – their delightful scent heralds that Spring has finally arrived!

Plant in a Sunny, well drained position – raise the beds if the soil is heavy or wet, and place the bulbs 8-10cm apart, 8-10cm deep.
