Ixia
Giant White
Ixia bulbs are South African natives and among the showiest spring-flowering bulbs for bright, colourful impact. They flower profusely on tall, wiry stems, creating a light, airy display that looks stunning in garden beds and borders. Reaching around 80 to 100 cm tall, they’re also excellent for picking.

-

-
Planting depth: 4 to 5 cm

For the best display, plant Ixia in bold groups so the flowers form a vibrant, swaying drift in spring.
Ixia Bulbs are perfect for New Zealand’s hot climates, but can be grown in most areas if planted under roof overhangs to restrict water, while still allowing the full sun conditions.
Ixia’s should be planted in sheltered areas of the garden to avoid the flowers toppling over.
