Full Sun to Part ShadeIxia ‘Yellow Giant’ is a South African native and one of the showiest spring-flowering bulbs for bold, sunny colour. It flowers profusely on tall, wiry stems, creating an incredible display through spring and making a brilliant cut flower. Growing to around 80 to 100 cm tall, it adds height and movement to borders and cutting gardens.

For the best impact, plant Ixia ‘Yellow Giant’ in generous groups so the blooms form a bright, swaying drift.
Ixia Bulbs are perfect for New Zealand’s hot climates, but can be grown in most areas if planted under roof overhangs to restrict water, while still allowing the full sun conditions.
Ixia’s should be planted in sheltered areas of the garden to avoid the flowers toppling over.
