Gladioli Nanus
Atom
Gladioli nanus ‘Atom’ is an absolute beauty, with vivid scarlet-red flowers finely edged in silvery white for a crisp, high-contrast look. Compact yet showy, it brings bright colour and height to spring gardens and is a standout in cut flower bunches.
Flowering in late spring to early summer, this Miniature Gladiolus (also known as the “Painted Ladies”) produces wiry, arching stems carrying multiple 6 to 8 cm blooms, growing to around 70 cm tall. It’s easy to grow and perfect for borders, cottage gardens, and mass planting in sunny spots.
How to grow: Plant corms in a sunny, well-drained position in well-worked soil. Plant 5 to 7 cm deep, in clumps spaced 10 to 15 cm apart. Keep watered during active growth. Monitor for common issues like thrips and rust, and treat if needed.
Gladioli Nanus are a beautiful dwarf, Spring flowering Gladioli - their smaller stature make them perfect in pots, or as a border plant. They are incredibly hardy.
These petite, early-blooming, hardier-than-usual glads, are perfect for the Spring bouquet.
Gladioli Nanus can be planted anytime from late March through to mid/late May.
