Hyacinth ‘Blue Star’ produces dense flower spikes of soft blue blooms with slightly paler edges, creating a fresh, elegant look in spring displays. Beautifully fragrant, it’s ideal for pots, patio containers, and garden beds where the perfume can be enjoyed up close.

Hyacinths are the very essence of spring, with strongly scented trusses that are a welcome sight after winter. ‘Blue Star’ is easy to grow and looks best planted in groups for maximum impact.

Planting and care

  • Position: sunny spot with well-drained soil (raise beds if soil is heavy or wet)

  • Planting depth: 8 to 10 cm

  • Spacing: 8 to 10 cm apart

  • After flowering: remove spent flower spikes, but leave the foliage until it dies back naturally to feed the bulb for next season

Hyacinth bulbs are easily grown in pots, or in the garden – their delightful scent heralds that Spring has finally arrived!

Plant in a Sunny, well drained position – raise the beds if the soil is heavy or wet, and place the bulbs 8-10cm apart, 8-10cm deep.
