Hyacinth ‘Woodstock’ produces striking, dark maroon-purple flower spikes from late winter into early spring, bringing rich colour when the garden is just starting to wake up. With its strong, sweet fragrance, it’s a standout choice for spring borders, patio pots, and containers near entrances where you can enjoy the scent up close.

Hyacinths are the very essence of spring. Their beautifully scented blooms are a welcome sight after winter and they are easy to grow in pots or in the garden for a high-impact seasonal display.

Planting and care

  • Position: sunny, well-drained spot (raise beds if soil is heavy or wet)

  • Planting depth: 8 to 10 cm

  • Spacing: 8 to 10 cm apart

  • After flowering: remove spent flower spikes, but leave the foliage until it dies back naturally so the bulb can recharge for next season

Hyacinth bulbs are easily grown in pots, or in the garden – their delightful scent heralds that Spring has finally arrived!

Plant in a Sunny, well drained position – raise the beds if the soil is heavy or wet, and place the bulbs 8-10cm apart, 8-10cm deep.
