Tulip Parrot
Powerball
Tulip Powerball is a true showpiece (you'll have to excuse the photos... she's much more stunning in real life!)
This Parrot tulip opens into ruffled, feathered blooms with striking green and purple tones that shift as the flower unfurls. It’s one of those varieties where the texture and colour depth are hard to capture, and honestly, the photos don’t do it justice. Parrot tulips are known for their dramatic, fringed petals and bold presence in the garden.
This one is also genuinely exclusive. It’s the first time we’ve had Tulip Powerball, and it will be the last time too, so once it’s gone, it’s gone.
Mid to late season flowering. Height 40cm.
Parrot tulips are cup-shaped, fringed, twisted and ruffled tulips decorated with vivid, flame-like splashes, stripes or feathery markings.
Their blooms are big and impressive... nearly 12.5cm across! . Parrot Tulip flowers deserve a spot in a flower bed or border where their exotic beauty can be fully appreciated. These long-stemmed beauties are stunning in bouquets.
Tulips love colder climates, but also do incredibly well in warmer climates (even as far North as the Cape!) - if you don’t have a cold climate like ourselves, we recommend chilling your Tulip Bulbs for 6 to 8 weeks prior to planting. This will trick them into thinking they are having their Winter period, and prolong their stems and Flowering period.
